Joy Collection

The Joy collection explores the wider concept of designing for happiness. These ceramic pieces have been designed and made to co-exist in the home to enhance people’s environments whilst evoking a sense of vibrant excitement and expressive emotion through surface and colour. These pieces take a playful approach to ceramic surface decoration which is intended to evoke feelings of excitement and positivity.

Olivia’s inspirations are drawn from colourful and vibrant decorative ceramics as well as material texture and the relationships we built with objects surrounding us. This body of work has taken a playful approach to experimenting with clay. Exploring glaze and its unpredictability creates exciting and unusual outcomes.

The theme of colour has become a large focus in Olivia’s practice and the way it can impact a space, as well as influencing mood and wellbeing. Her growing fascination with the way objects and colours can develop an association with a joyful memory and positive feeling is present in Olivia’s work.
